Since 2012, more than 10,000 individuals around the world have created anonymous self-portraits of previously hidden inner dialogues; sharing the stories we hold behind our skin. Each portrait is a dynamic roadmap to a deeper understanding of our relationships with self, others, technology, and the natural world.

What we believe about ourselves determines how we will experience our lives.
What do we believe? Imagine yourself on canvas, your inner operating system exposed beyond “human hardware.” This information drives how we relate, how we connect, and what we create. Yet our personal firmware is often outdated, tricky by nature, and ego protected. These anonymous self portraits of inner dialogues reveal the interplay of emotions that drive our actions. They are guides to destinations of truth and transformation, beyond the aesthetic, and into the sublime. Participants use canvas and pens to access an upgrade path through which the bricks of pretense and the mortar of shields crumble under examination of relevance.

When we create our art, we move closer to ourselves. When we view the art of others we realize that what we thought divides us, is actually the glue that binds us together. The gallery allows our external gaze to see inward, our perspective shifts, and we intrinsically understand the power and potential within our diversity.

The collaborative process develops and supports antifragile behaviors and growth mindsets. Workshops and immersive exhibitions activate identity awareness, emotional literacy, and belonging. With over 10,000 portraits and growing, AS I AM may be the largest known collection of self-generated visual narratives of inner emotional experience — offering a rare opportunity for collaborative partnerships with AI to deepen our understanding of the interdependence between human, planet, and technology systems.
