AS I AM
If you were a blank canvas, how would you fill it?
Everyone has a story to tell…
What we believe about ourselves shapes how we experience our lives. Since 2012, more than 10,000 individuals around the world have created anonymous self-portraits of previously hidden inner dialogues. On canvas, these portraits reveal the interplay of emotions that drive our actions. Each then becomes a roadmap, guiding us to a deeper understanding of our relationships with self, others, technology, and the natural world.
Stories are how we make sense of the world.

We belong AS WE ARE
When we create our art, we move closer to ourselves. When we view the art of others we realize that what we thought divides us, is actually the glue that binds us together.
We are not alone. We are not broken. We are not problems to be solved. We are humans having human experiences in the world.

“Human Innerface is a powerful commentary on the condition of our current culture. Sometimes we just need to ask and then listen to how people are doing.”
— Nonprofit executiveWhat People Are Saying:
“Putting the pen to the canvas is liberating. Feelings inside are hard to articulate out loud, but seem to come easier through artwork. Once I stood back to look at the drawings of others with similar issues, I realized that I am NOT alone in my struggle." ~
— OEF Veteran with PTSD“Everybody has imperfections, and As I AM gives people a place to speak, and be heard. So, I don't care if people know my true identity and the art that is going on inside of me, because I think it will inspire people to be proud of themselves as well. Speaking up, is just the beginning! I know this project will become legendary. It truly is an experience worth doing.”
