Within its crystalline geometry lies a fundamental truth:

We are both infinitesimally small and cosmically significant.

Philosopy:

As participants step inside the circle, they are reduced to the scale of atoms within a molecule, invited to embody the interdependent forces that actitvate our reality—frequency, polarity, resonance, emergence.

At the center of Anode stands a stone altar, honoring indigenous ceremonial lineages of remembering, rebirth, and interconnectedness. Upon this altar rests a crystal orb, a symbol of cosmic connection and infinite awareness. The altar is grounded in a Medicine Wheel, a sacred map of energetic direction, seasons, and spiritual resonance. Around it, twelve tetrahedral columns rise in alignment with the four directions, marking the field like temporal threads weaving our future imaginings into an infinite web of coherence. Anode is a mirror, a signal, a space for remembering, and a frequency you are invited to join.

As light pathways illuminate the structure at night, participants attune to how individual presence contributes to collective illumination. We are both conductors and current, structure and energy, creators and created—intentional nodes powering the future through our participation in the cosmic flow.

Support the Project today :)

I have learned that high impact storytelling doesn’t have to mean a big budget. I am re-configuring the light panels from and am working with The Solar Library to power the art with the energy of the sun! I hope you will consider supporting this project with a donation. You can donate directly using Zelle or Venmo @sharon-demattia. Your contribution is greatly appreciated! I hope to see you dancing in the dust…or wherever the ripple finds us next together. xoxo

The Human InnerFace: Reconnecting People and Planet

Anode is the latest expression of my artistic journey as installation art at Burning Man. In 2013, Burning Man was my first moment of “Whaaat??? You mean this has been here all along?” , my heart cracked open, and I found the dance again with the guidance of trusted friends. It has been over a decade of learning to trust my intuition…and it has been a remarkable ride. My first installation was “WE. the people” at Burning Man 2019. It completely blew my mind as it was never anything I considered possible for myself; it was a miracle that opened many doors, and my work has continued to expand with the support of many. I am so very grateful.

Because of that first installation, I met individuals that invited me into sacred indigenous ceremonies where I learn to listen, create and connect to the wisdom of a Living Earth. I am deeply humbled as I continue to expand my work honoring these ancient traditions in collaboration with others., I imagine art installations like “cosmic chemistry sets”, where diverse individuals gather and and “bump” into each other in beauty, wonder, and awe to create our best future possibilities together.
